MV Kaami, a general cargo vessel salvaged six miles off the northwest coast of Skye, Scotland after running aground in March, has been dismantled and recycled in Kishorn.Built in 1994, the 89.8-meter vessel, owned by Norway’s Misje Rederi, was sailing under the flag of Bahamas when it ran aground on March 23 this year. It was refloated by Resolve Marine Group and towed to Kishorn Port and Dry Dock on the northwest coast of Scotland.Highlands and Islands Enterprise (HIE) has invested more than £700,000 ($878,500) in Kishorn in recent years, along with support from the Decommissioning Fund, to add to the significant investment made by Kishorn Port Limited (KPL) and its partners

Karpowership, one of the world's largest operators of floating power plants, has agreed a 5-year deal to provide electricity to Sierra Leone's state power utility, the Turkish company said on Tuesday.Karpowership - part of the Karadeniz Energy Group - already supplies around 80% of the West African nation's electricity via two powerships anchored off the capital Freetown under a contract signed in 2018.The vessels are dual-fuel powered using either heavy fuel oil or liquefied natural gas (LNG).The new agreement will add 5 megawatts (MW) to current production.

Norway's ship recycling firm Green Yard is taking over the cash strapped Kleven Verft shipyard after the latter recently filed for bankruptcy.In a press release issued on Tuesday, and titled "Kleven is saved!," Kleven said that Green Yard had reached an agreement with the bankruptcy estate and the banks involved, to take over the Kleven Verft."The core competence is preserved and Green Yard Kleven will also in the future be one of Norway's most renowned shipyards," Kleven said.Kleven was in January this year taken over by Croatia's DIV Group from Hurtigruten and the future seemed brighter, with a PSV completion contract secured in March, and a luxury superyacht deal signed in May.
