Cargo Ship Crashes Into Front Garden of Norwegian House
A large container ship ran aground early on Thursday (May 22) morning and crashed into the front garden of Johan Helberg who lives near Trondheim in southwestern Norway.The 135m (443ft) Cypriot-flagged cargo ship, the NCL Salten, narrowly missed Helberg's house by mere metres around 0500 local time (0300GMT).Helberg was alerted to the incident by his neighbour Jostein Joergensen who witnessed the ship heading directly for the shore.The NCL Salten had 16 crew members on board, none of whom were injured in the accident.Norwegian police are investigating the incident.

First of Its Kind LCO2 Barge Design Approved for U.S. Operation
ABS awarded approval in principle (AiP) to Overseas Shipholding Group, Inc. (OSG), the parent company of Aptamus Carbon Solutions, for its preliminary design of a liquefied carbon dioxide (LCO2) barge.The development of the barge design is a core component of the Tampa Regional Intermodal Carbon Hub (T-RICH) project to receive, store and process emissions from Florida industries for transport to regional sequestration sites.The articulated tug and barge unit (ATB) is a first-of-its-kind to service carbon capture projects in the U.S. The cargo handling system design is based on medium pressure LCO2 Type-C tanks and is capable of transporting 20,000 mt of cargo.
One Person Missing After Fire on Chevron’s Deepwater Platform off Angola
One person has been reported missing following the fire incident that occurred on May 20 at Chevron’s Benguela Belize Lobito Tomboco (BBLT) deepwater platform off Angola, that left 17 people injured.The report about the missing person was shared by Angola’s National Agency for Oil, Gas and Biofuels (ANPG).Government entities and Chevron’s Angolan subsidiary Cabinda Gulf Oil Company (CABGOC) are continuing to work closely together to mobilize resources to conduct search and rescue operations.“The safety and well-being of the workforce remains a priority. CABGOC is collaborating with contractors to provide support to affected people and their families,” ANPG Said.
