Spanish shipbuilder GONDAN has delivered the freezing stern trawler Magne Arvesen to be operated by the Norwegian company Engenes Fiskeriselskap A/S in Northern Atlantic and Artic waters.This new vessel, designed by Kongsberg Maritime – in charge also of supplying the main equipment – has a length of 69.9 meters and a beam of 16 meters. Built in steel with aluminum superstructure, the stern trawler will operate mainly in Northern Atlantic, Barents Sea and Svalbard waters. With an accommodation for 29 people, the freezing trawler will be operated for heading, gutting, and freezing of whole white fish.
Spanish shipbuilder Astilleros Gondán has tapped ABB to supply all-electric power solutions for ten fast 40-meter urban passenger ferries transporting up to 540 passengers each across Lisbon’s Tagus river.The contract comes a week after Astilleros Gondan said it would start building a series of 10 fully electric passenger ferries for the Portuguese river passenger transport operator Transtejo.The ten new ferries will replace the existing fleet serving this route when they enter service between 2022 and 2024.In addition to energy storage, ABB will deliver a fully integrated electric power solution and an integrated marine and propulsion automation system.

Survitec completed a $372M refinancing with funds managed or advised by the Credit Group of Ares Management Corporation.“Successfully concluding this financing demonstrates the confidence we believe that Ares and M&G have in our business," said Ray Leclercq, Survitec’s CFO.Survitec’s lead shareholders are Searchlight Capital Partners, a global private investment firm, and M&G Investments, an international asset manager.Survitec also recently announced another key element of its long-term growth plans. In March 2021, the company said it had signed an intent to purchase Hansen Protection, a European provider of specialist survival suits and protective equipment.
