Trump Wants More Drones and Missiles, Fewer Ships
U.S. President Donald Trump wants a pay raise for troops, more high-tech missiles and drones in next year's defense budget, while cutting Navy jobs, and buying fewer ships and fighter jets to save money, according to budget materials posted Wednesday.At $892.6 billion, the defense and national security budget request is flat compared with this year.The budget, which also includes nuclear weapons-related activities carried out by the Department of Energy and increases funding for homeland security, puts Trump's mark on the military by pulling funds away from weaponry and services to fund his priorities.

First Russian-Built Ice-Class LNG Tanker to Enter Operations This Year
The first Russian-built ice-class tanker for liquefied natural gas is expected to go into operation in the second half of this year at the Arctic LNG 2 plant, Interfax news agency quoted tanker group Sovcomflot as saying on Wednesday.International sanctions over Ukraine have led to a shortage of tankers in Russia that can cut through thick ice, preventing Arctic LNG 2 from exporting cargo since the first stage of the plant started operation at the end of 2023.The tanker, named Alexey Kosygin after a Soviet statesman, was built at the Zvezda shipyard and is due to join the fleet of vessels for the Arctic LNG 2 plant.The tanker, already under U.S.

First Digital Fuel Certificate Issued for Ammonia Bunkering
In a milestone for the green fuel economy, Fortescue, in collaboration with Trovio and the Green Hydrogen Organisation (GH2), has completed the issuance of the world’s first digital fuel certificate for an ammonia-to-ship transfer. The transaction involved the Fortescue Green Pioneer, the first ocean-going dual-fueled ammonia powered vessel, during a recent fuel transfer operation at the Port of Rotterdam.While attention has been directed towards the engineering and safety protocols surrounding ammonia as a maritime fuel, this transaction highlights the critical role of digital infrastructure in enabling scale.

Aker BP Installs New Jacket at Valhall Field in Southern North Sea (Video)
Norwegian oil and gas company Aker BP has completed the installation of a jacket for a new production platform at the Valhall field in the Southern North Sea.The Valhall production and wellhead platform (PWP) jacket has been installed with the support from Allseas' Pioneering Spirit and Heerema Marine Contractors' Sleipnir, two of the world’s largest offshore vessels, Aker BP informed on social media.The installation followed the removal of an old production and compression platform (PCP).“This marks the end of an era and the beginning of 40 more years of production at Valhall.

All Inter-Array Cables Installed at 488 MW French Offshore Wind Farm
The final inter-array cable has been installed at Îles d’Yeu and Noirmoutier (EMYN) offshore wind farm in France, being developed by Les Éoliennes en Mer Services.The 61st and final inter-array cable was installed on June 22 at the EMYN offshore wind farm, Louis Dreyfus TravOcean said on social media.The accomplishment paves the way for a transmission capacity of 512 MW.Geoquip Marine’s Geoquip Elena, converted into a Cable Laying Vessel (CLV) with a bespoke project-specific deck layout used in the operation, will be demobilized early July from the Dunkirk offshore base, according to Louis Dreyfus TravOcean.
