CLASS AFLOAT
Class Afloat is an educational organization that offers unique, experiential learning programs aboard a tall ship. The program is designed for high school, gap year, and first-year university students, combining traditional classroom studies with hands-on sailing experience. Participants live and learn aboard an ocean-going vessel, traveling to various international ports and engaging in a curriculum that covers a wide range of subjects, often with a focus on global citizenship, environmental studies, and personal development.
The voyages provide opportunities for students to visit culturally and historically significant locations, participate in community service projects, and gain a global perspective through immersive learning experiences. Class Afloat emphasizes the development of leadership skills, teamwork, and a sense of responsibility, as students are involved in the day-to-day operations and maintenance of the ship.
Founded in 1984, Class Afloat has built a reputation for offering a unique educational alternative that fosters academic growth and personal development through adventure and exploration.
