C & C Technologies, Inc.

C & C Technologies, Inc. is a company known for providing various geo-scientific services, primarily in the fields of offshore oil, gas, and renewable energy industries. Established in 1992 and headquartered in Lafayette, Louisiana, the company has built a strong reputation for offering innovative marine services that include geophysical and geotechnical surveys, marine construction support, and autonomous underwater vehicle (AUV) services.

Key Services Provided by C & C Technologies:

  1. Geophysical Survey: This includes collecting and analyzing data about the physical properties of the seabed and sub-seafloor to support offshore exploration and development projects.

  2. Geotechnical Survey: These services involve the acquisition and interpretation of soil and rock properties to assess their suitability for offshore construction and installation.

  3. Autonomous Underwater Vehicles (AUVs): C & C Technologies is known for pioneering the commercial use of AUVs for deepwater surveys, which offer high-resolution data collection capability in deepwater and challenging environments.

  4. Marine Construction Support: The company provides a range of support services for marine construction, including precise positioning and navigation during installation of subsea infrastructure.

  5. Environmental Services: This includes environmental impact assessments and monitoring to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.

  6. Hydrographic Surveying: This service is used to map water bodies, providing essential data for navigation, dredging, and coastal development projects.

Technological Innovations:

One of the standout aspects of C & C Technologies is its role in advancing the use of AUV technology for commercial applications. Their AUVs are equipped with sophisticated sonar and other sensors, allowing for detailed mapping and data collection in deepwater environments where traditional methods may be less effective.

Acquisition by Oceaneering International, Inc.

In 2015, C & C Technologies was acquired by Oceaneering International, Inc., a company specializing in engineered services and products for the offshore oil and gas industry, among other sectors. The acquisition allowed Oceaneering to expand its capabilities in survey and positioning services and integrate C & C Technologies' advanced AUV capabilities into its service offerings.

With the backing of Oceaneering, C & C Technologies continues to push the boundaries of maritime survey technologies and provides critical data and support for a range of offshore projects around the globe.
