Blount Small Ship Adventures, founded by Luther H. Blount in 1966, is an American family-owned cruise line specializing in small-ship cruising. The company is known for its unique, intimate cruising experiences that allow passengers to explore destinations that larger ships cannot access. Operating primarily in North America, including the Great Lakes, inland waterways, and coastal regions, the company's cruises emphasize adventure, culture, and natural beauty.

Blount Small Ship Adventures operates vessels specifically designed to navigate shallow waters and narrower passages, enabling them to offer unique itineraries. Key features include retractable pilot houses and bow ramps, which facilitate beach landings and exploration in remote areas. This innovative ship design allows access to small towns and out-of-the-way destinations, providing a more immersive and personal travel experience for guests.

The onboard experience is characterized by a casual, friendly atmosphere with fewer passengers compared to larger cruise lines. This smaller guest-to-crew ratio allows for more personalized service and a greater sense of camaraderie among passengers and crew alike. Onboard amenities are simpler but comfortable, and the focus is on creating a welcoming, home-like environment.

Blount Small Ship Adventures emphasizes learning and enrichment, offering programs and excursions that include historical, cultural, and ecological insights about the regions visited. Activities such as guided tours, nature walks, and local expert talks are common, enhancing the overall travel experience.

Overall, Blount Small Ship Adventures appeals to travelers looking for a more relaxed, intimate, and unique cruising experience away from the crowds and commercialism of larger cruise lines. Its commitment to offering distinctive journeys and exceptional service has garnered a loyal following among adventure and culture enthusiasts.
