Arch Chemicals had its headquarters in Norwalk, Connecticut, and operated through two primary business segments:

1. Performance Products: This segment focused on providing biocides in various industrial applications, such as water treatment, wood preservation, coatings, and building products.


2. H&H Products: This segment included health and hygiene products like personal care items and contact lens disinfectants.

The company had operations globally and served a diverse range of markets and industries, including industrial, commercial, and consumer markets.

In 2011, Arch Chemicals was acquired by Lonza Group, a Swiss multinational chemical and biotechnology company. The acquisition aimed to expand Lonza's product portfolio and strengthen its position in the global market, particularly in the field of microbial control. Post-acquisition, Arch Chemicals' operations were integrated into Lonza's business structure, and the Arch Chemicals brand was largely phased out.
