Rosenblatt & Son, Inc. was founded in 1947 by Mandell Rosenblatt and quickly became one of the premier naval architecture firms in the United States, providing a wide range of services including ship design, system integration, and consulting.


In 1999, AMSEC LLC was formed as a joint venture between M. Rosenblatt & Son, Inc. and SAIC (Science Applications International Corporation), aimed at expanding their capabilities and market reach, particularly in the fields of engineering and technical services for the U.S. Navy, other maritime customers, and commercial clients.

“As the Hong Kong International Convention for the Safe and Environmentally Sound Recycling of Ships (Hong Kong Convention) enters into force we have updated our estimate for the ship recycling potential over the next 10 years. We now estimate the potential to be 16,000 ships, or 700m deadweight tonnes (DWT), from previously 15,000.
